Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the property, building, production area, shipping area, and all other facility related items that arise in the day to day operations of a manufacturing plant.  The Maintenance Technician is responsible for interacting with Plant personnel to identify and resolve any operational malfunction that can be repaired or improved upon resulting in a more efficient operation.  Critical parts of operational machinery is stocked and maintained in a bar coded environment for which the Maintenance Technician must ensure that any drop in supply inventory be reported to the Maintenance Manager for immediate replenishment.  The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to keep Plant equipment operational and minimize any downtime that may occur by responding, identifying, and repairing any malfunctions.  The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.


Job Responsibilities:

The tasks, duties, and responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate inventory of consumable items with replenishment schedules.
  • Work in compliance of all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintaining the preventive maintenance program incorporating all machines in the building
  • Work directly with facilities personnel to ensure proper operation of all equipment
  • Assist Engineering on projects requiring maintenance
  • Maintain maintenance shop cleanliness, organization, and safety
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Respond quickly to Plant needs
  • Coordinate, schedule, and plan all assigned projects to ensure completion in a timely manner
  • Understand and practice ADS CORE VALUES   


Job Skills:

The Maintenance Technician should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:


  • Knowledge of pneumatics
  • Ability to communicate at different levels within the organization
  • Knowledge of hydraulics
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Knowledge of welding and electrical applications
  • Excellent decision making skills
  • Strong scheduler of tasks in a multi-task demanded environment
  • Ability to work with all types of power tools, equipment, and machines in a safe manner
  • Able to start and finish detailed projects on time and within budget
  • Able to lift at least 40 pounds on a regular basis
  • Mathematical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

 Educational Requirements:

2 year technical degree desired.  7+ years maintenance experience can substitute for degree.

Preferred Experience:

  • Maintenance experience in high paced manufacturing plant
  • Welding, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing experience desired

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift a maximum of 100 lbs
  • Ability to perform labor in extreme temperatures and temperature changes for long periods of time
  • Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Position requires full range of body movement including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, pulling and pushing
  • Ability to mount and dismount industrial equipment
